Oils for Beauty and Health

Oil has been relied upon for thousands of years as a fundamental part of natural healing, especially in Ayurveda, although the other great healing systems use it, as well. Oil is traditionally used in healing in a variety of ways, including raw consumption for digestive health, cooking, massage, bathing, gargling, enema and nasal treatments. Ayurveda, in particular, uses oil for even the most serious health conditions.

In natural healing, there are two basic categories of therapeutic oil, including base oil, a pure, whole, organic oil from a natural source, such as coconut, sesame and almond, and infused oil, a base oil saturated with one or more herbs, combining the nourishing and soothing qualities of the oil with the healing properties of the herbs. Healing oil is calming, soothing, moistening and lubricating, and can deeply nourish the tissues. In fact, the word for oil in Sanskrit, sneha, is also a word for love, giving oil a special role as a carrier of compassionate energy. Oil treatments bring healing qualities deep into the tissues of the body.

In this detailed and practical webinar, we will dive deeply into the world of healing oils. Learn the best oil for the person, for the application, and how to use these valuable healing techniques. We will consider many simple oils and a host of herbal oil formulas.
